Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the SDR-SLC client for macOS (“the app”, “we”, “us”) handles information. The SDR-SLC client is developed and published by IXChange B.V. (Ivo van Ling, PA2IX). It covers the macOS client application only, not the other, independently published parts of the SDR-SLC ecosystem (the protocol specifications, hardware designs, and device daemons).

The short version

The SDR-SLC client does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data. It connects only to the SDR devices you choose, on your own network. We do not run analytics or tracking, and we do not sell or share your information, because we do not have it.

Information the app does not collect

The SDR-SLC client does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, location, or contacts. It does not create an account and does not require you to sign in.

Network connections

The SDR-SLC client communicates over your local network with the SDR hardware and daemons you connect to (for example, the SLC HF Transceiver, or an RTL-SDR or BladeRF running an SLC daemon). It uses Bonjour (mDNS) to discover these devices on your network. These connections stay between your Mac and your own equipment; the app does not send this activity to us or to any third party.

Analytics and crash reporting

The app contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind. We do not embed any third-party analytics or crash-reporting service, and the app does not send usage data or crash reports to us.

If you have enabled sharing of diagnostics with app developers in your macOS settings, Apple may provide us with crash reports in an aggregated and anonymized form through the App Store. This is handled entirely by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy, is not linked to your identity, and can be turned off in your Mac’s Privacy settings.

Purchases

The SDR-SLC client is sold through the Apple Mac App Store. Any purchase, payment, and receipt information is handled by Apple under Apple’s own privacy policy; we do not receive or store your payment details.

Data storage

Your settings and preferences (such as saved radio profiles and slice configurations) are stored locally on your Mac. This information stays on your device.

Children’s privacy

The SDR-SLC client is a tool for licensed radio amateurs and hobbyists and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
